Who is justlikemom?

justlikemom is made up of...ALL OF US! yup, that's right. Without the efforts from all of you, this site would not exist. So share your favourite recipes, your cooking tricks...and anything else if you want. I certainly have no objections to learning more about you. In fact, I may ping you if I have any questions about the recipe. ;)

Why justlikemom?

I love to eat my mom's homecooking. I love to eat my best friend's mom's homecooking...I love to eat...WE LOVE TO EAT.

It all started one night, when I asked one of my best friend's, JennyB,

"when I can come over for her mom's yummy meatloaf?"

"Anytime," she said.

I then turned towards my other best friend, Renita Applebaum,

"when can I have you mom's yummy shrimp curry?"

"Whenever you want it," she chimed.

They both looked at me and said...

"And your mom? Her famous noodles?"

Oh how we love our mom's cooking...how we love each other's mom's cooking!

justlikemom, was born! Actually, 'my best friend's mom's cooking' was born - but that was too long to say, so I modified it.

So up and at 'um, we spoke to some of our friends, their friends and their friends...what they love to eat, why they eat and how they eat...what they cook, how they like to cook...and you can go on from there.

With all that information, we needed to decide how to share the information. Do we make a cookbook? Develop a website? How are we going to share what we love to those we love...and like that...justlikemom....was born.

Where is justlikemom?

Everywhere. Wherever your home is, or used to be...or want it to be. My aunt in the Philippines makes the best sweet sticky rice. But, she lives on the other side of this planet. She needs to represent here, so we can make the yummy treat. Your friends and family, wherever they are should contribute...I would like nothing more than a good traditional/national recipe...made from the homes of its citizens.
